This is a Taoist ‘Ziwei Hui’ talisman pouch. It contains a luck‑activating talisman. It has undergone forty‑nine days of incense offerings and consecration empowerment. The wish is that all your endeavors will be unstoppable and that good fortune will be upon you throughout the year.
The Great Emperor Ziwei (Ziwei Dadi) has a full title: “Grand Emperor of the Central Purple Subtlety and the Northern Pole.” He is one of the Four Imperial Lords in Taoism. These four revered deities assist the Jade Emperor. Ziwei Dadi resides at the celestial center. He is the Lord of All Stars.
The “Ziwei Hui” (sacred taboo character, also written as “Yu Jian Er”) is his esoteric symbol. It consists of 28 strokes. These correspond to the 28 lunar mansions (constellations). The symbol represents the personal presence of the Great Emperor. It possesses the power to expel evil, suppress malevolent forces, and command ghosts and spirits.
