The Great Emperor Ziwei (Ziwei Dadi) is formally known as the ‘Great Emperor of the Central Purple Subtlety and the Northern Pole.’ He is one of the Four Imperial Lords (the four revered deities assisting the Jade Emperor) in Taoism. He resides at the celestial center and is the Lord of All Stars.
The ‘Ziwei Hui’ (sacred taboo character, also written as ‘Yu Jian Er’) is his esoteric symbol. It consists of 28 strokes corresponding to the 28 lunar mansions (constellations). This represents the personal presence of the Great Emperor. It possesses the power to expel evil, suppress malevolent forces, and command ghosts and spirits.
Carefully selected warm and fine materials are used. Following traditional Taoist specifications and ancient methods, this aromatic plaque is handcrafted using the Seven Incenses and Twelve Essence Herbs. Embodying the principle of yin-yang harmony, it integrates the protective power of the Ziwei Hui with the health-preserving effects of incense and herbs. This achieves threefold value: warding off evil and providing protection, harmonizing body and mind, and supporting spiritual practice. It is a perfect portable object that combines Taoist culture with modern life.
